Happy Relationships: Set Regular Dates

By Virginia Bola, PsyD A good portion of the enjoyment of a pleasant date is in the anticipation. We have a date for Friday night and we think about it throughout the week. We think about what we will wear, where we’ll go, what we’ll eat, what we’ll say and do. We plan on how long it will take to get ready and whether we’ll need to leave work a few minutes early. When we enter a relationship, we stop dating. We see each other, of course, much more than we did in our dating days. At the onset of living together, we still have that sense of anticipation before seeing that beloved face. We hurry home to the most important person in our little world. After years together, we become used to the routine. We may enjoy seeing our significant other as much as ever but the exhilarating anticipation has become normalized. We have become habituated to the lives together we have created. We need to start dating again. We need to create special events that we can look forward to with keen relish. Thinks about when you last took a vacation or a pleasure trip. The days and weeks leading up to it were times of mounting excitement and planning; we saw it in our mind’s eye long before it took place. After it was over, we enjoyed remembering the things we had seen and done, secretly smiling at the fun we’d had and the free feelings we had experienced. The same spirit-boosting results can be obtained, to a lesser degree but with more frequency, in planning small events with our partner. A lunch or dinner date at a special place can be something we look forward to for a long happy week. A date to go bowling, or dancing, or golfing, can be set up several days in advance. Plan on when you are going to see that special movie or attend a concert. An event simply needs to be special, it doesn’t have to be expensive. Plan a visit to the fast food chain where you had your first date. Take visits to local hotels to see which ones have the best free hors d’oevres at happy hour. Meet at a museum or an art gallery for a stroll together. Send your honey a special invitation by card or e-mail. Advise that no “regrets” will be acceptable. Prepare for the date as carefully as if it was your first meeting and be on your best behavior as you were in that delicious dance of courtship. When your friends question why you are in such a good mood lately, just smile and tell them that your life is so special that there’s no time left to be grumpy. The Death of Product Packaging as We Know It.

By JoAnn Hines It used to be you that if you had a great product you put it in a package and voila! . . .someone would come along and buy it. That is not the case any more. The package not only has to protect the product and allow for its tracking, it has to sell it too. Most importantly, the package has to capture someone’s attention in less than three seconds. Consider the last time you went shopping. Were there any new products that jumped at you off the shelves? With smart packaging there is an embedded chip that says “buy me” every time someone walks past your product. Seriously, that will happen in the future, but right now smart packaging is confined to a few interesting innovations. What smart packaging innovations will impact you and your product? It depends not only upon your target demographic but where you plan to sell your product. Packaging 101 simply doesn’t make the grade any more. Ask yourself some important questions that will help you build your package brand. Who is your buyer? How old is your buyer? Where does your buyer shop? How often do they shop? What features are they looking for in your product packaging? What is the most important aspect of your product package that will appeal to the buyer? Will my package have to persuade people to buy it? Can your package be easily compromised, tampered with or counterfeited? This should get you started thinking about who you are packaging your product for and their expectations. No matter who the ultimate customer is, the package has to “sell” them on buying your product. If you haven’t taken the time to “think like a customer” your product won’t be flying off the shelf. It will be dying on the shelf! Got packaging problems? I can help. I teach people how to package products consumers will buy. I’m on top of the packaging trends and technologies that influence how and where we shop. Get insights from the top expert in consumer product packaging. Want to know the hottest packaging issues? 10 Reason To Move Out Of Your Current Apartment

By Andrew Bermam Have you been disturbed and uneasy? Are you toying with the idea of moving out of your current apartment? Very often it is hard to decide whether moving is a good idea or not. It is quite easy to be complacent and resist change. There are umpteen reasons to move. Here are a few important ones: 1. You must consider moving if the police are in your apartment complex regularly rounding up neighbors. Never stay where criminal activities are suspected. 2. Avoid putting yourself in danger and move quickly if you suspect a peeking tom. Voyeurs and stalkers are to be avoided at all costs. 3. You have outgrown the apartment and need more space for yourself and your growing family. 4. You have small children and will save hours commuting by moving to a place closer to work. Often the costs of transport, overtime for baby sitters, and huge delays in commuting will all add up and you may find moving to a seemingly expensive apartment in another area is in actuality a saving. 5. If you are going to save a bundle in insurance by moving to a safer and more up-market locality. 6. If the apartment needs huge repairs and you could be in danger of being crushed by debris. Or, the apartment block is unsafe and a fire hazard. 7. A great new block is offering the option of your becoming the owner after sometime. It is worthwhile if a condo development is making a few unbeatable offers. 8. If your life is about to change from being single to being a family personyou will need more space for a growing family. Look for a place near a good school which has open spaces for play. 9. The roommate you thought was perfect is not. Change is a must if you do not get along with your roommate or if you dont have the same values in life. 10. Your rent is higher than the neighboring areas and you would make a considerable saving by moving to a less expensive suburb. Be sensible sit down calmly and weigh the pros and cons of moving. Discuss your thoughts with a friend or family member. If in doubt make an appointment to see a broker or apartment consultant. Find out what the costs of moving will be. View your needs and daily routine and determine what you need from an apartment and how much you can really afford. Moving decisions cannot be made in a jiffy. It is important to find a home where you feel safe, are protected, and happy. Keys are security, affordability, future plans, and convenience. Jot down your needs on one side of a sheet of paper and what you dont like about your present apartment on another. Put it away for a day or so, then read through it once again and find out whether all you wrote down still applies or whether you feel differently. If you still feel the same then it is a good idea to move. Holistic Health Care - Metaphysical Healing Mission

By Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD In an ever increasing fast-paced society, many of us take the easy road of self neglect and procrastination thinking we are doing fine because we feel fine. Fast-food commercials dance in our heads, as the solution to our ever demanding race to keep up. Only later we scramble for a practitioner in the time of need Mildred Carter, one of the pioneers of reflexology, stated in her book, Body Reflexology, whenever we feel pain anywhere in the body, even the slightest twinge of a pain, its the bodys method of sending you a signal, and if palpated and rubbed out, may prevent future illness, although the actual dis-ease may be far removed from the original site of discomfort Prevention is far superior for health care than treating the illness or dis-ease in progress. This is not to say, that the illness or dis-ease can not be eliminated–it can, but it generates a sense of fear and vulunerability, which exacerbates the illness or dis-ease. This is the very reason the quick fixes for symptoms are the staple for Traditional Western Medicine. Given the proper support and adequate care, the body can heal itself. As Louise Hay says in her book, Heal Your Body, “…no matter how dire their predicament seems to be, I KNOW if they are WILLING to do the mental work of releasing and forgiving, almost anything can be healed. The word ‘incurable,’ which is so frightening to so many people, really only means that the particular condition cannot be cured by ‘outer’ methods and that we must GO WITHIN to effect the healing. The condition came from nothing and will go back to nothing.” Coincidentally, acupuncturist, whose treatments are covered by many major insurance carriers, are utilizing a similar protocol when they palpate along the bodys surface areas, known as meridians, to locate tender points, or points of pain, which are then needled, to correct various conditions. They are known to practice massage and acupressure which are also documented to mirror the clinical effectiveness of acupuncture. Deepak Chopra, MD stated in his book, The Book of Secrets that the human body runs on dual controls. If you heal it from the outside by material means, it will respond. If you heal it from the inside by subjective means, it will also respond… Arthur Miller stated, I think one must finally take ones life into ones arms. Refinancing Your Home Equity Loan - How to Refinance a Home Equity Loan

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder Refinancing your home equity loan is simple when using online lenders. By comparing loan quotes, you can find the lowest costing refi solution. In addition, you can save time and hassle by completing your application online. In less than two weeks, you can reduce your rates and payments by refinancing your home equity loan. Refinancing Options For Home Equity Loans You have a number of options for deciding how to refinance your home equity loan. The simplest method is to just refinance your current home equity loan as a second mortgage. The other option is to refinance both your first and second mortgages to qualify for lower rates than if you just refinanced your second mortgage. You also save on closing costs by paying lawyer, appraisal, and other fees just once. In addition, the hassle of multiple applications is eliminated. However, combining mortgages is not always the best financial choice. In some cases, refinancing separately will get you better rates. You may also save money by having different terms on your mortgages. For example, you may want your first mortgage for 30 years, but your second mortgage for five. Start By Comparing Numbers To see real savings on your interest and monthly mortgage payments, ask for loan cost estimates from lenders. For a quick search, look at the APR to find the lowest costing refi package. But to get a real sense of your savings, calculate the interest cost on your current home equity loan and potential refi loan. Remember too that there is flexibility with your refinancing. You can shorten your loan to reduce interest or lengthen terms to reduce monthly payments. Finishing The Refinancing Process By looking online for your refinancing quotes, you have practically completed your loan application. When you receive a quote, most lenders provide an option to finish the application. This may mean submitting a request online or completing a form. Once your refinancing has been approved and loan contract signed, your original loan will be paid off by your lender. You can start enjoying your lower monthly payments in less than two weeks. Fighting Menopause Blues

By Monalisa Hyden Sudden change in personality When was the first time you found yourself getting irritated by every small incident? Are you worried about the sudden change in your own personality? You used to be a loving, always smiling, and thriving. Are you in your 40s? And you are now more prone to anxiety, depression, withdrawal from social activity, mood swing etc. Hang on! Do not come to any conclusion right away. The reason behind this could be the fluctuating hormone level due to menopause. A natural phenomenon Menopause is a natural phenomenon to every woman. As a woman ages, the supply of ova declines and menopause comes naturally after the supply of follicles has been depleted and menstruation ends completely. This results in the cessation of estrogen and progesterone hormones in a womans body. Woman goes through a change during menopause and perimenopausal years of her life experiencing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swing, vaginal dryness, sudden memory failure, insomnia, withdrawal, fatigue, excessive feeling of guilt and unworthiness, thoughts of suicide etc. Women consider these symptoms as a part of natural ageing process and do not try to overcome the adversaries of life. A myth, menopause causes loss of sexual desire in a woman, also plays an important role in her depression. Thank God! Depression is treatable! But why should you suffer silently when you have a solution for menopause and midlife depression? Depression can be a serious disease which can lead to more severe physical as well as mental complications. Depression increases the possibility of heart attack, blood pressure and can be responsible for loss of bone mineral density. Depression can be treated by many ways like certain effective antidepressant pills like Xanax which are essential for mild to moderate depression patients, therapies, changes in diet, alternative medicines, and herbal medicines. At the same time, family support, emotional support from the partner, daily physical exercise, taking care of sleep, and doing something related your hobbies would give wonderful results to a woman suffering from menopause syndrome. Easy way to a better life Menopause symptom during the midlife can be handled incorporating some easy practices in the daily routine. A woman should take it as a challenge which can be as exciting as her youthful times. Here we go… Forget the ideas that with menopause, a woman lose sexual desire. Actually, a womans desire for sex depends upon her partners interest. You can have sex without the fear of getting pregnant. So enjoy the freedom from contraceptives. If you sense that the vaginal dryness during the intercourse, use lubricant or cream. If you are gaining weight, a healthy diet plan and regular exercise would do the magic for you. Take more calcium and B vitamin and avoid caffeine, alcohol, refined sugar and chocolate. Communicate with your partner regarding your emotional and physical problems. Keep in touch with your near and dear ones. Contact your female friends; they can give you good emotional elevation. Ask for help if you are finding it difficult to take care of your grown up children and the elder members of your family at the same time. Take out some time and engage yourself in some activities you always liked but could not; may be your long forgotten hobbies. To help sleeping disorder, take a warm bubble bath before going to bed, take a glass of warm milk or a glass of wine (only one glass please). Consult your doctor before taking any sleeping pill or anti-depressant medicines like Xanax. Count your blessings. Think of the people around who care for you and think of good times. Identify the factor which is keeping you under stress. Do not over expect from yourself, be practical. Set priorities and work accordingly. Go for regular health checkups. Keep an eye on your blood pressure, heart and blood sugar condition. Meditation for 30 to 60 minutes on daily basis will help you immensely. Life has given you another chance to live Menopause is not the end of your life, o woman. You have accomplished the duty of giving birth to human progeny and raised them. Life after menopause is for the contentment of the long-forgotten woman within you; a fair chance to live for your own self, up to your expectations. One chapter is closed and a new chapter awaitingits only you, who will decide what to write. The author, Monalisa Hyden, addresses psychological issues. Want Weight Loss? Beware Of The “Calorie Trap”

By Jim O’Connor Calories - two out of three American adults need to eat fewer. The rest struggle daily not to eat more. A calorie (or kilocalorie) is a measure of energy-producing potential. If we consistently eat more than we need, we gain body fat. If we eat less than we need, we lose fat, and weight loss occurs. The challenge arises when we fall into the “Calorie Trap.” We are often tricked into our quest for energy balance (caloric intake = caloric expenditure.) People wonder why they wake up and their pants don’t fit. Most frustratingly state they don’t understand why; they haven’t been eating poorly. Other puzzled individuals mutter, “I have been eating very little; how can I possibly gain weight,” or “I eat very well,” or “My clothes shrunk in the laundry.” The “calorie trap” strikes again! People constantly underestimate the number of calories they take in by not being aware of how calorie dense particular foods really are, or what an appropriate serving size really is. This particular dilemma is leaving America heavier now than it was ten years ago. Stop thinking about carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, Atkins, or the South Beach Diet, and start becoming aware of the caloric content of the foods you are eating. The key to weight loss and avoiding the “calorie trap” is to educate yourself by reading labels and making intelligent food choices. Here are a few clear examples of how easily it is to fall into the “Calorie Trap.” With a little education and label reading, you can avoid this trap, and make weight loss much easier. Which of the following has more calories per serving? 1. Average bowl of Grape Nuts or Frosted Flakes? 2. English muffin with jam or a dry bagel? 3. Five oz. of M&M’s or five oz. of yogurt raisins? You will be surprised! Give it your best guess. An average bowl of Grape Nuts has 600 calories vs. an average bowl of Frosted Flakes at 220 calories. That morning dry bagel has 400 calories to the english muffin and jam’s 170 calories. The M&M’s have 675 calories, while the yogurt raisins also have 675 calories. Surprised? Hopefully this little exercise and article will get you thinking calories and weight loss in the correct way. Pay attention to what you are putting into your mouth, including the portion size. You will see a difference in your waistline! Start counting yourself to weight loss. Begin today! The most effective way to become aware of your food choices, portion size, and calories you consume is to start a food journal. The food journal will answer all these questions and provide clear insight into your eating habits, and patterns. ________________________________________________________ For a directory of information pertaining to weight loss, visit the following weight loss resource site. http://www.WeightLossAssistant.com For Bi-Weekly health, fitness, and weight loss tips, and strategies visit http://www.WellnessWord.com _________________________________________________________ *** Attention: Ezine Editors / Website Owners *** Feel free to reprint this article in its entirety in your ezine, Blog, Autoresponder, or on your website as long as the links, and resource box are not altered in any way. Wedding Gift For Him

By Eddie Tobey A wedding gift for the groom should be memorable, special, touching and unique. For a memento you could present the groom with a wedding guest book platter, wedding picture frame, signature frame kit, signature photo quilt, family tree platter, custom wedding figures, personalized photo pillows, family portrait platter, personalized house picture, the book, Recipe for Happy Marriage, an executive jewelry box, or a soul mate glass block to proclaim your undying love for your soon to be husband. Another wonderful gift for the proud groom is a watercolor painting of his favorite place. A framed photo of the engagement party or a special occasion that the bride and groom celebrated will also be cherished. These two gifts will surely stand out among the rest as being unique and will be displayed for years to come. Personalized gifts are always special. A personalized briefcase or portfolio is a handsome gift that is functional as well. A love poem on parchment paper and classically framed will perhaps take center stage in his office, or a sterling silver frog with a crowned head inscribed, you are my prince could make a great conversation piece. If the groom is a technology buff, an electronic organizer or MP3 player is sure to please. The standard gift of a wrist watch, shirt, wallet or camera is a safe bet, or a personalized gift like an initialized bathrobe with a fine bottle of wine would be very special. Finally, if youd like to give a truly out of this world gift, give the lucky groom a star through the Adopt A Star program. Hell receive a certificate with the name of his star on it that can be framed for his office or home. Marriage - How To Avoid Work Stress Hurt Your Marriage?

By CD Mohatta Work stress plays a very major role in hurting married life. Most of the men and women bring their stress home and play havoc with their married life. The stress spills over at home and creates further stress. Home should be used to dissolve the work stress. Home should be the place to relax and get comfort. Home should be the place where we get rid of the stress that we bring from outside. But opposite happens. Let us discuss how to avoid this and keep our home protected from any such stresses. Let us also discuss how home can help us fight these stresses. The very first question should be - What is more important? Married life or work life? New work /job can be found, but getting another person to marry will be difficult. What about after retirement? Who will be with us- our spouse or our company? We never think about these issues. For us the stress at that moment is the center of our life. Our mind is occupied with that stress. Therefore when we reach home, we are ready to speak harshly, blame family members, showing irritation and express our frustration in many other ways. Ideally, when we reach home, we should tell our spouse about the stress and ask help to get over it. He/she will find ways to comfort us. Prepare a comforting hot bath, putting on light music or your favorite television show. We should make our family a partner in our stress and not blame them for contributing to our work woes, because that is generally not the truth. A marriage can be a great cure for stressed life. It is not the place where you go and put all your blames. Bringing balance in life is most important. Make your marriage work for you. Dont let your work damage your marriage. The author C.D.Mohatta writes articles, advice and ideas at http://www.yourromanceguide.com/ on topics like love, dating, marriage, relationships, break-ups, etc. He also writes for screen-savers and desktop wallpapers at http://www.screene.com/ on topics like nature, spirituality, motivation, love-romance, holidays, animals, etc. The third site, the author writes for, is http://www.ecarduniverse.com/ - it has free ecards on holidays, birthday, love, friendship, family, expressions, celebrations and all events and occasions. Five Mistakes That Can Derail Your Job Search

By Ruth Anderson No matter how much time and energy you invest in job seeking, critical mistakes can derail your efforts. Consider the following job search scenario. Each of the mistakes described below can put your job search off track, but all are easy to avoid. Mistake #1: Starting with a Handicap Your job search is underway. Time to get out your resume, dust it off, and add your most recent experience Right? Wrong. A strong job search starts with strategizing, and a strong resume should be the vehicle to put your strategy into action. It isn’t enough to dust off an old resume you need a revised resume that is tailored to a specific position and a specific employer. Ask yourself What are the top needs and preferences of this employer? How can you address the employers needs with specific information about your experience, strengths, and accomplishments? And how can you structure your resume to convey this key information in a quick, 30-second scan? To avoid mistake #1, assume that your resume is much more than a personal history that simply needs a little updating. Start with a strategy, and rewrite your resume so that it speaks directly to the interests and concerns of the employer who will read it. Mistake #2: Sending Less-Than-Your-Best Your resume is done, and youve written a cover letter to accompany it. Now youre ready to drop both in the mail in response to a job ad that especially interests you Right? Wrong. Have you first made very sure that youre not sending out less than your best? Many job seekers fail to realize that both the resume and the cover letter are seen as examples of the quality of their work. This means that all aspects of overall quality are important including spelling, grammar, visual layout, organization, and clarity of writing. Errors will stand out like a flashing red light, and anything that makes the resume and cover letter difficult to follow may cause them to be tossed aside. To avoid mistake #2, follow this rule of thumb: Have at least two other people read both your resume and cover letter before you send them out. Tell them your job-search strategy so that they know what you want to communicate to the employer. Mistake #3: Cyber-Regrets The employer has called for an interview! In addition, hes asked that you e-mail a copy of your resume to another person in the company. That’s easy a quick note with a Word attachment Right? Wrong. A casual approach to the computer world can lead to embarrassing mistakes. Regrettably, e-mails usually can’t be called back after clicking on the “send” button. As before, avoid mistake #3 by treating any letter as both an opportunity to convey your qualifications and a sample of your writing. Avoid common e-mail shorthand and short, terse paragraphs the former can come across as “unprofessional” and the latter as impersonal. Finally, to be on the safe side, print out your e-mail and attachment to make sure that all looks well in hard copy. Then send the e-mail to at least one other person, and ask them to review both its content and appearance. Mistake #4: The Missed Opportunity Youve prepared for your interview and thought over all the answers you may have to supply. There’s not much more you can do Right? Wrong. Chances are that at some point in the interview the employer will turn the tables and say: “Do you have any questions?” If you respond by saying “no” or by turning to practical details (“What is your benefits package?”), this will be a missed opportunity. To avoid mistake #4, think of several questions beforehand questions that speak directly to the responsibilities and challenges of the job itself. Employers want to know how you think and what you would be like to work with; your questions are an opportunity to show that you can take on the challenges of the job in a constructive way. Mistake #5: Letting the Ball Drop You had a strong interview, and you’re waiting to hear whether you got the job. At least now you can take a breather while you wait Right? Wrong.
